You're Not Stuck. You're Restless. There's a Difference.
I have been actively networking to grow my business for about 3 years. I recently came across a group called Ready Set Pivot that was in the early stages of an organizational remodel. Since I geek out on the rebranding process, I was excited to meet with the founder, Wendy. She said something during our conversation that stopped me in my tracks and filled a void in my messaging.
Most women aren’t stuck; they are restless.
Read that again.
Referring to ourselves as “stuck” implies we've gotten ourselves into a situation we can't escape. And, if I’m being honest, it’s an overused, dramatic term that feels like permission to stop looking for possibilities.
Restlessness, by definition, is a feeling of uneasiness or agitation. It's active, and more importantly, it's information. It nudges us to find solutions to our challenges.
Restlessness can sound like:
"There has to be more than this."
"This isn't me anymore."
"I'm tired of going through the motions."
Restlessness often appears when your identity has shifted, but your habits, relationships, work, and priorities have not. Your outside life is struggling to catch up to who you've become. That discomfort is actually valuable feedback.
So, are you stuck, and saying, "I can't move." Or are you restless, and saying, "I can't stay here."
If you've been calling yourself stuck, but reframing it as restlessness resonates with you, let's find out what next step would be right for you. Those are two very different starting points leading to very different solutions.
